Vivid Fall Wedding at Messina Inn | Ashley + Aaron

If you need inspiration for your colorful wedding, Ashley and Aaron’s Messina Inn wedding is where you should start. This event is bursting with color from the vibrant array of florals to the signage, linens, dresses, and even the bride’s hair. I am obsessed with the bride’s vision and love how she used color to bring life to this very special day. When I met Ashley, I asked her how bold she was willing to go with her design plan. She told me to go crazy, so crazy it was! We used jewel tones, lots of plum, magenta, and dark teal with hints of burgundy, lush greens, and ivory as a base. All the metals were gold, and we incorporated flowers in every space. A Messina Inn wedding has never been this bright and bold!

Let’s take a moment to talk about this beautiful family. Ashley and Aaron have two kids, both with A names as well: Axton and Arya. Their kiddos joined them during the wedding ceremony which was centered around their commitment to family - there wasn’t a single dry eye but also, tons of laughs. Arya wore the most adorable pink dress, full of volume and bling, and Axton was looking sharp in his tux as he was escorted to the altar. Their officiant was hilarious and their sweet babies were the only bridal party they needed coming down that aisle. It was clear that they were already a loving family unit and this wedding was just the cherry on top.

More about the details: we created a welcome sign, table numbers, place cards, menus, bar signage… everything to make the space truly unique to this family. I proposed a few key elements that the bride instantly fell in love with including arched shapes in the stationery, vibrant linen, and giant trees as centerpieces. We ended up with a custom arch in an A-frame to match their names, a pallet wall backdrop (also custom-built), flowers for the grand staircase, bar compotes, welcome urns, lush aisle markers, and so much more.

Ashley was over the moon when she came downstairs for her ceremony and I was totally not crying. When I say there wasn’t a dry eye, that includes me! Everything was beautiful, especially that bombshell of a bride, and their guests commented on how nice it was to have color in an upscale event. In a world of all white, embrace the rainbow!
