An Intimate Wedding Inspiration at Messina Inn

For this wedding inspiration shoot at Messina Inn, our goal was to highlight the natural beauty of the Italian-style architecture and lush landscape. This beautiful wedding space was inspired by Messina, Italy, and is a small family-run business that has become a destination for luxury wedding couples who have moved away from their families in Texas but want to come back and throw an epic party. This place is like a legit European villa nestled in the Hill Country of Texas. The thought, “I don’t think we’re in Texas anymore,” will likely cross your mind within five minutes of being here. We planned this wedding inspiration shoot as the perfect way to showcase the abundance of photo ops and all of the different spaces within this one venue. From the bride and groom suites to the courtyards, lush fountain gardens, creek-side ceremony space, and indoor-outdoor reception areas, we take you through each glorious wedding space that Messina Inn has to offer.

Our team took charge of the planning, design, stationary, and floral arrangements for this wedding and brought this Italian romance vibe to life; I love handling multiple elements to ensure everything coordinates and comes together seamlessly. This was such a beautiful project because nature was all around, from start to finish. We were sure to emphasize the gorgeous fountains, grand staircase, and natural masonry that added beauty & charm to this already immaculate venue.

More natural elements are featured in this space with the stone walls, flowing creek, and towering magnolia trees. To complement the existing whimsy of the grounds, we carefully created lush, soft-colored floral designs with pops of orange, red, and pink. Throughout the design, from their elegant vellum invitation suite to the lavish flowers on the head table, we aimed for a fresh and romantic feel that wasn’t bold or overpowering.

The bride wore a whimsical two-in-one tulle gown that flowed effortlessly as she floated across the sprawling venue. You’ll notice the sleeves come off after the reception so she can dance the night away without restriction. The groom impressed us with his moves as they twirled under the twinkling lights on the outdoor dance floor. It was breathtaking!

The tight-knit outdoor ceremony was right next to the water, under the towering magnolia trees. To let nature be the star of the show, we decided to only add floral arrangements to the trees they stood under for their vows. They were just the right amount of pop!

This spring wedding shoot was absolutely breathtaking and we couldn’t be happier with how everything came together. We adore this venue because it can be transformed to fit any theme and is the perfect place to host your wedding - whether it’s intimate with your closest friends and family or an event for the ages, fitting up to 225 people. Even though the outdoor spaces are the most sought after, in case of a weather event they do have the pavilion which fits 150 people, plus heavy-duty curtains to keep the heat in and the rain out.
