Lush Spring Wedding at the Houston Bell Tower
This Houston Bell Tower wedding was romantic, opulent, and lush - we simply can’t get enough! Inspired by Beyonce and Jay-Z, this power couple did their own twist on Watch the Throne. We used the album cover to inspire their invitation suite and remixed the name by using #WatchTheWatkins as their hashtag. We planned, coordinated, designed, created invitations, and provided flowers for this grand affair - curating a unique vibe that perfectly fit their vision and personalities.
This wedding to remember took place at the Italian-inspired Bell Tower on 34th in Houston, TX. Fit for modern royalty, Sara and Carl took full advantage of the famous cascading waterwall, stylish ballrooms with dramatic staircases, and private gardens with beautiful fountains & lush greenery. Complete with high ceilings and marble floors throughout the venue spaces, this Houston wedding venue was dripping with extravagant details. Because it is already decadent in its architecture and design features, we were able to focus on the floral decor and complimenting the existing beauty of the Bell Tower.
We started their weekend with a rehearsal dinner where we saw lots of embarrassing pictures of the bride and groom, a perfect way to break the ice amongst family and friends who may not have shared many laughs beforehand. We then opened the wedding morning with mimosas and fruit and, of course, chill vibes while getting glam. The bridal party also enjoyed a coffee break in their matching outfits, a perfect way to start a day full of excitement.
The high energy of the bride, bridal party, and everyone involved made it that much more magical. They were all smiles and you could feel the love that each one of them had for this joyous day.
In preparation for their walk down the aisle, our team was busy building the arch onsite and setting all other flowers and decor while keeping the vendor schedule on time. As the planner, coordinator, and florist, we’ve learned to juggle multiple projects at once and ensure they are all executed seamlessly. When designing their altar, we used warm tones to compliment the beige/tan/peach colors of the marble in the ceremony space. We did so by using a carefully planned combination of greenery amongst light pink, red, & peach roses and carnations. This lush mixture created a stunning backdrop that enhanced the luxurious vibe of the already immaculate altar area. This floral design worked beautifully in their reception space, where we included an aqua accent in the table decor. The bride loved our execution of her vision.
One moment we will never forget is the flower boy who started the ceremony with a bang by making it rain with petals from the fanny pack we provided - he did not disappoint. That and the mixed-gender bridal party were unique, memorable moments that we congratulate Sara and Carl for including. If you ask the guests about their favorite moments from the wedding, I promise the flower boy will be mentioned! After their lighthearted ceremony, we hosted cocktail hour at the waterwall garden and had dinner in the gorgeous ballroom with an overflowing dessert table and grand staircase entrance. You simply couldn’t take your eyes off this beaming bride and groom, they were such a VIBE.
It was a magical day and we thank the Watkins for allowing us to lead the most important aspects of their wedding weekend. We laughed, cried, and danced until the lights went out!
