What common mistakes do you see couples making? Going the cheap route on services that can’t be cheap. If you choose “cheap” vendors chances are they quality won’t be what you expect or the quality of work will also be “cheap.” A vendor who does great work or offers a great service will know their worth and charge accordingly. “You get what you pay for”
What’s the best tip you have for a couple planning a wedding? Hire a planner/Organizer....planning and organizing a wedding is one of the most STRESSFUL things.
What don’t couples know about you or your work that they need to know? I LOVE moody vibrant images, but I also love light and airy images. I don’t limit myself to one style because I LOVE both. I edit each session/wedding according to what I feel would work best and what my client wants! ️

Weddings are a lot of work and there are so many things you could photograph. Why weddings? We are dedicated to living lives that are truly and authentically ours lives full of adventure, and with absolutely no regrets. And we have no shame about empowering our couples to do the same. We’re passionate about capturing the greatest love stories of all time, full of adventure, love, and authenticity. WE FIRMLY BELIEVE, THAT TO LOVE AND BE LOVED IS THE GREATEST ADVENTURE OF ALL.
What was the most memorable wedding you ever worked, and why? Our most memorable wedding was this past summer with this beautiful couple Addie + Eric, we actually second shot for a friend ours. It was so beautiful, the family was blending together and you could tell in every single moment that the couple was so in love with each other and so excited about their new life together. It was small, just their family on this beautiful ranch and we got to talk to everyone, hear their stories and really be apart of their story. We left that day thinking, wow I can't believe I get to call this my job. ️
What common mistakes do you see couples making? The most common mistake we see couples make when it comes to weddings or wedding planning is they try to do everything themselves. If you don't have a wedding planner, having a wedding coordinator for the day is invaluable because you can plan everything to a T, but if you don't have someone to make sure the florists arrive on time, or that the bridesmaids and groomsmen get ready on time, there's a bit of chaos.
Also, realize that you get what you pay for with vendors in the Wedding Industry. If your photographer is covering your whole wedding for little to nothing, understand that it'll probably reflect in the quality of your photos or your experience with your photographer.

The Silver Bears are a family team of photographers and videographers that work together to capture weddings from all vantage points. Their work is full of details and candid shots that really bring highlight the emotion of your day. We love seeing their heart for memories as they move like a well oiled machine around events. Here is some of their best wedding advice for you:
What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask? Always ask to view full galleries of photographer's work and not just view their online portfolio. This way you can see the whole day and how they shoot details, family portraits, reception lighting, etc.
What’s the best tip you have for a couple planning a wedding? This is your day, not your mothers or mother-in-laws. Stand up for what you want and love. You can't redo the day so make sure the design, the style, the dress...it's all you and you feel beautiful!
Weddings are a lot of work and there are so many things you could photograph. Why weddings? It sounds cliche but we love LOVE. We always say we love people, that's what we focus our day on. You won't see hundreds of pics in your gallery of just details because they are inanimate objects. We prefer emotion and action and moments over styled shots of details. Of course we capture them, but we don't spend a ton of time on it because we feel we are missing those moments happening with your loved ones that you'll want to remember more than a picture of shoes. We just love being there for a couple's beginning...it's new, it's exciting and special. Who wouldn't want to be around that all the time?!

Here is some of their best wedding advice for you:
What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask? Questions regarding lighting and timing. What kind of light will the sun be giving off during the time of day and time of year you will be getting married? Some of our couples plan ceremonies for 3pm in the afternoon in May outdoors, and don’t realize that this is going to result in really harsh, much too bright, unflattering lighting, heavy shadows, and squinty eyes. Or 5:30pm in November, when you’ll most likely have enough sunlight for a sunset ceremony, but no light left for couples, family, and wedding party portraits - resulting in flash photography, which is a VERY different look that you have to be okay with. The relationship between light and time is IMPORTANT, and one that every couple should pay attention to. If you’re having an outdoor reception - is there PLENTY of light over both the dance floor and tables and pretty much everywhere people would congregate? That’s a very needed thing. If you’re having an indoor ceremony / reception - lighting considerations are equally important there, as well. Is there a lot of window / natural light? Is lighting abundant and a good color temperature and positioned in flattering ways? All of these things effect your photo and video results, and you’ll WANT to make sure those are your priority as the only remnants of your day once it’s all over. Consulting your photographer and letting them help you with that part of the planning is a great first step.
What was the most memorable wedding you ever worked, and why? Definitely the elopement we did in Big Bend National Park. The couple had been together for a better part of a decade and had a daughter together - they were already married in their hearts, but wanted to make it official in a way that was really intimate and special. They spent their weekend in gorgeous, furnished yurt in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert just outside of the ghost town Terlingua. We hiked with them to the top of a giant cliff, spruced with cacti and beautiful desert flowers, overlooking the Rio Grande and the Mexican border at sunset, and watched a literal rainbow appear behind them as they held hands, said their vows to one another and danced while we photographed from afar.. As beautiful as that desert view was, it paled in comparison to the scene of those two just completely in the moment with each other. As the sun was setting, we made our way back down the trail, and soaked in the natural hot springs that flowed in the cool river below, beautiful Mexico just a few yards away, and belly-laughed into the night. It was a truly beautiful experience, and we were honored to be a part of it.
